Kale Chips.
Kale Chips
Adapted from Besty
1 large bunch of kale (about 1-1 ½ feet across at the widest point)
1 ½ tablespoons neutral oil, plus more if needed
1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
½ teaspoon white sugar
½ teaspoon salt
1. With a sharp knife, trim down the sides of each kale stalk, cutting up the larger leaves into smaller pieces. Rinse, and spin kale pieces in a salad spinner to remove as much water as possible. Pat dry with a paper towel, and then leave washed kale pieces to completely air dry before continuing.
2. Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, mix together the onion and garlic powder, white sugar, salt, and oil until combined. Toss the dry kale pieces in the seasoning until all the pieces are evenly coated. Spread the kale chips evenly on one or two baking sheets in a single layer. Bake the kale chips for 15-20 minutes or until the chips have shrunk and are very crunchy. Some chips take longer than others. After a couple days, the chips may need a bit of re-toasting in the oven to crisp up. Simply re-toasting at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-15.
