Manhattan Beach Creamery.
On the way down to Manhattan Beach at around lunchtime, we passed by the Manhattan Beach Creamery and were momentarily derailed. Visually, the place is ridiculous. Racks of candy, oversized cream-colored soda shoppe parlor chairs in the vein of Marie Antoinette and cases of ice cream, toppings, frozen things dipped in chocolate, and of course, homemade chocolate confections. All of this, plus a crowd of people lined up and in a sugar-induced haze of madness. But the air, oh the air. The air was thick, you could literally see the sugar floating around and sticking to people. Wafting through all of this was the smell of sweet, caramelized sugar ice cream cones. Not to completely abandon the beach, we vowed to come back at dinnertime. (I insisted on just having ice cream, but was persuaded to have cheap but delicious Wahoo Fish Tacos first. I made sure to sit so that I could see the Creamery at all times.)
I rarely have life dilemmas, but ask me to choose an ice cream flavor and I will be confused, stressed out, and relatively indecisive for about twenty minutes. Nutella ice cream? Chocolate and Vanilla Cupcake? Mocha Almond Fudge? Orange Sherbet? In the end, it was the Animal Cookie topping possibility that brought to the frozen yogurt. And it was dank frozen yogurt. Real yogurt taste, but thick and rich. I had original and chocolate mixed, topped with Animal Cookies, mochi, and chocolate chunks.
And a hunk of butter toffee for good measure.

Oh man, that looks so good. Is it posted on Fiddme yet?
Next time you’re in the South Bay, try out Paciugo Gelato in Hermosa Beach (it’s in Hermosa right next to the Comedy and Magic Club). Way better than the MB Creamery, in my opinion.
Really? I’ll definitely be on the lookout for it next time. We just happened upon MB Creamery, and after a day at the beach, it was quite literally perfect.
